What does BTB stand for and why that name?

Born To Be! We selected the name because we believe that everyone that was put on this earth has a purpose. We are here to help them grow as people, and hopefully we can help them find their purpose whether its in soccer or other things.

When did BTB officially start?

BTB started in 2013 as an initiative to get kids in the Edmonton communities to come together to have fun, make new friends, improve their fitness and learn new soccer skills. BTB started as a supplementary program that was running in the summer and winter once per week. BTB also started doing summer camps in 2015 to keep the children and youth busy during the summer months when school was out. This initiative has become one of our most successful event every summer.

Is BTB a supplementary program to other club programs?

NO. BTB is NOW a full time program that trains 2-4 times per week and play league games in EIYSA, tournaments in and out of the province and exhibition games against similar like competition.

Is BTB a Club?

Yes. BTB is a club that trains and play games in a league. BTB is structured like the European and South American clubs where the grassroots and youth teams are the “academy” and our Men and future Women teams are consider the “club”.

What is the Adult High Performance Teams called and what league do they play in?

BTB Football Club. The adult teams play in the Edmonton District Soccer Association League.

Does BTB play in a league? When did BTB join the league?

BTB plays in the Edmonton Inter-district Youth Soccer Association League (EIYSA) with other clubs in the Edmonton and surrounding areas. BTB joined the EIYSA league March 2021.

Does BTB provide a Female program?

Yes. BTB has a female program from the grassroots to U17. BTB currently has female players ages 4 - 10 in the academy. We are looking for female players ages 4 - 12 to join our full time program as we continue to build. BTB is actively looking for female coaches to join and help us lead these programs.

Does BTB provide supplementary programs? Are these programs available to any player outside of BTB?

Yes. BTB provides supplementary programs such as the Summer Camps, Skill Development Training, Position Development Training, All-Abilities Training (players with intellectual and/or physical disabilities). All our supplementary programs are available to all BTB players and also players that are not part of our club. These trainings are to provide an extra training for the players than what they already receive.

What types of programs does BTB provide?

BTB provides grassroot programs ages 4 - 8, Development programs ages 9 - 12, Competitive programs ages 13 - 17, High Performance programs ages 13 - 17, Adult High Performance programs Ages 16 - 21.

Does BTB have licensed coaches?

BTB has one of the highest ratio of licensed coaches in Alberta. The High Performance teams have head coaches that have Canada Soccer Association National B or National Youth License. The competitive teams have head coaches that are a minimum CSA National C license. Our grassroots program is led by 2 coaches that are in training for the CSA National Children’s License, and a 3rd coach that is CAF “A” licensed. Our Adult program is led by coaches with CAF “A” license, CSA National license, and by former professional players.

What other development opportunities does BTB provide?

BTB provides extra programs for the High Performance teams as part of their program. BTB provides sport psychology, strength & conditioning training, sport nutrition and rehabilitation for the athletes for them to develop at the highest level. Competitive teams have an option for these programs at a cost.
