JUNIOR COACH PROGRAM
Junior Coach Program
BTB Soccer Academy understands the importance of transitioning young players into coaching, refereeing, admin and other important roles within our club. In order to have a successful club we must develop the young leaders of tomorrow in all aspects of our club. We take the junior coach and referee development programs as our most important programs that we run each year. One of BTB’s main priority is to develop young players into coaches who understand the BTB way of playing, coaching, and the work we do in the community.
BTB runs a free coach mentorship program for players ages 12–21.
Junior coaches work with the youngest players from U4–U11.
Junior coaches, 16 and older, go through coach training from
Canada Soccer and BTB staff.Junior coaches, go through a
coaching seminar led by BTB staff.Optional coaching days: Tuesday or Thursday or Saturday
Junior coaches will receive a certification for volunteering at the end of each season.
Expectations of a Junior Coach
Show up dressed in all BTB gear by looking the part of a coach (cleats, soccer pants, soccer top)
Learn the session plan a day before each practice
Show up 15 minutes before each session and 30 minutes before each festival
Engage with the players when on the field
Make practice fun and engaging for every person
Take the Canada Soccer Active Start and FUNdamental course
Attend all coaching seminars by BTB
Conduct themselves in a respectful manner at all times.
